3D Bioprinted Vascular Network Brings Us Closer to Push Button Organ Printing

Using state of the art bioprinting technology, scientists were able to 3D print human tissue with a functional vascular network for the first time, moving us closer than ever to a day when we can replace damaged or aging organs at the push of a button. We’re still not there ,of course; bioprinting is an incredibly sophisticated endeavor. Especially considering that we still don’t entirely understand exactly how the human body works in a lot of ways, including how cells just “know” how to form a functional circulatory system.
